Q Make a list of things that happened in your life that were not supposed to happen (for yourself; do not share them with me). These are things that were not part of your hopes and dreams for your life. When you feel you have written it all out, take a deep breath and close your eyes. Consider your level of vulnerability in identifying things you know should not have occurred. Discuss how vulnerable you feel putting these experiences on paper. Now discuss this in relation to a sexual assault… does anyone plan on being sexually assaulted? The shock of being hurt by someone that you know? How do you tell someone and trust them? How do you know what to do next following an experience like this?

While I was conducting this activity, it was understood that I am quite vulnerable when it comes to emotions because there has been many instances where it feels like I was not able to gain something. When I was making notes of the things that I could not achieve in life, it was a very difficult feeling to write it down on the paper. I felt as if I have lost a part of me which I can never get back. In this situation of sexual assault it can be said that nobody ever plans to be sexually assaulted and it is a very sad thing to even imagine for oneself. Living in the world today, most of us are scared of engaging in any kind of sexual assault and the fear is more commonly seen among the women. Sexual Assault is a very serious situation that might take place in anyone’s life and it severely impacts the person’s way of living their life.
